Is your Mac Safe

This morning ITWire put out a release about a trojan horse infecting Macs. Given the general attitude towards viruses on Mac, I wasn’t going to go nuts with my virus protection and instead just decided to use a basic program called iAntiVirus. It appears however that iAntiVirus hasn’t quite caught up to the threat of this trojan (yet) as I can’t find a single thing about it on their threats page.

So, if you’ve been downloading dodgy copies of iWork ’09 and have been using iAntiVirus to protect yourself… you may be left feeling a little more exposed then you were before. I guess this really shows us that:

1. Mac’s aren’t immune for virus and investing in top notch virus protection is a good way to go.

2. If you download dodgy software, then you should probably consider that the software may be more dodgy than you expected and think again

I don’t expect to see a Mac ad on this topic anytime soon.
